Rite Windows' biggest selling point is their 50-year warranty. It's a good deal if you're happy with the product and the professionalism of their work crews, which unfortunately, over the course of several months and two visits, I was not.
The installation happened in June 2023. The crew was friendly, but left out some of the plugs that covered up screw holes in the window and did not do a very consistent job of caulking. Pictures are from after this first visit.
The product itself was also not what I expected. There were manufacturing issues, with the handle edges on the sashes being very sharp, bits of vinyl sticking out, and the mitering wasn't very tight on some of the corners. It just wasn't the quality I was expecting for the price.
The second crew came out in August 2023 on warranty to replace the sashes, put in the rest of the plugs, and redo the caulking, but the sashes had the same issue of sharp handle edges and the caulking was again inconsistent in quality.
If this is what the 50-year warranty on product and service covers, I'd rather cancel it for a partial refund.
Edit: revising this rating as I am presently working things out with one of the managers.
Another issue (that can't be visualized) is the lack of noise reduction properties in the window. If your neighborhood is already quiet, these windows might be fine, but I was hoping for more soundproofing.
Final edit: the issues I raised have been resolved to my satisfaction.
I meant to write a review when I had my windows first installed because I was over the moon happy with the quality of the windows, the efficiency of the installation and above all, especially after looking at four other companies (and reputable ones), the value for the product. The cost was reasonable and fair and it wasn’t going to leave me broke. But I never got around the first time to writing a review because life happened. Fast forward almost a year later and I noticed a decent size hole in one of my (beautiful, sturdy) screens and knew it must have been caused by one of the squirrels I learned was recently living in my attic. So I called Rite Windows and Freddie and Pete arrived on time, were polite and friendly and most unbelievably, replaced my screen right there on the spot. I had a brand new screen and they didn’t charge me for it. I’m so unbelievably happy with the Rite Windows product- I have twenty nine beautiful brand new windows installed, some of which required custom measurements (it’s an old farmhouse), and I wanted to take this moment to write a reviews for anyone looking to work with a window company- I am beyond impressed with the quality and customer service of Rite Windows and I would use them again in a heartbeat.
After a rough start, after sales person and contract signed, someone came to measure the windows to be replaced and he said “we have a problem “ you need nailfin/new construction windows not rep,a cement windows. They honored the contract and did not make me pay more for the more expensive window. Installers Jack Jackson and crew, Bob and Mike were great. They did all the windows (8) in a day … 4 were on second floor and they had to use staging because nailfin windows are out in from the outside. The crew cleaned up, showed me how to open windows to clean them. I am satisfied at the end product after a rough start.
This experience was a great one because of the people I interacted with along the way.
It started with Keith and he is the reason I ended up going with Rite Window over other companies I received quotes from.
Brian came to measure the windows and couldn't have been nicer.
For the installation I had Quentin and Charlie and I can't say enough good things about them. They were both so experienced, professional, hardworking, and extremely nice. They made the installation process so manageable and such a positive experience!
Thank you to everyone who I dealt with. I will be recommending you anytime I can!
We got our entire hose of windows replaced. And I am so unhappy with it I continue to find issues. Yesterday I had found a plant growing thru my window frame In the basement because the correct chalking want used or any for that matter. Even during the install they miss measured and had to reorder and they had to come back twice. Just a poor company and when I posted my initial review they made me take it down. I have to re chalk all my windows myself this year as I am not finding that I am heating the outside
The door itself is very quality. Unfortunately, the installation left a lot to be desired. See photos attached. The door had overflowing glue coming from the panel. The caulking was not smooth and at multiple points in the sealant and wood used for the frame there is discoloration. In addition, the walls around the sliding door are now scuffed/discolored.
The wood plank placed at the bottom of the door does not sit flush with the trim, leaving an gap that was caulked.
When I followed up with RiteWindow to discuss my dissatisfaction with the installation, the response from the manager was that it should be "expected that I would need to clean up the caulk and repaint the trimming." He pointed to the fine print that "maintenance of the caulking is the responsibility of the owner." He offered to send someone out to clean up the glue and buff out the scuff marks, but at this point I'll take the burden of refinishing the area myself.
Not exactly the response I was hoping for from a product that I paid a premium price for.
Rite Window also replaces entry and storm doors also, I thought.
I do like there windows and I spent over $30k doing two houses.
I recently called Rite window, 10/20,23, wanting to replace my storm door.
They refused to do that unless I replaced my, 1 year old entry door, also.
Talk about screwing consumers, not enough profit for them to get involved.
So, beware of getting involved with this company, It was a better customer oriented business
years ago.
I wanted to tell you how GREAT Greg and Connor are. What an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC JOB they did!!!! 10 PLUS stars!!!!!! GREAT INSTALLATION!! …
